ACTRIS (Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure) is the European research infrastructure for short-lived atmospheric constituents: Aerosols, Clouds and Reactive Trace Gases.
IMK-AAF hosts the leading institution for the Topical Center for Cloud In Situ Measurements (CIS), as well as its unit Center for Cloud Ice Nucleation (CCIce). It is our responsibility to ensure the quality of the atmospheric measurements of ice-nucleating particles (INPs) within the ACTRIS framework.
As national facility of ACTRIS, we also operate our atmospheric simulation chambers AIDAc2 and AIDAd. The data collected with these chambers for ACTRIS adhere to ACTRIS quality guidelines and are accessible via open access. Research groups interested in conducting measurements at the chambers may submit an application to ATMO ACCESS via ACTRIS PASS.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the development of the ACTRIS infrastructure at KIT within the framework of the Strategy „Research for Sustainability" (FONA) (BMBF funding codes: 01LK2001B and 01LK2002B).
