EUROCHAMP-2 is a research project funded within the EC 7th Framework Programme, Section "Support for Research Infrastructures - Integrated Infrastructure Initiative". EUROCHAMP-2 started on May 1, 2009 for a 4 year period. It is the successor of EUROCHAMP-1, from June 1, 2004 until May 31, 2009.

EUROCHAMP-2 has three networking activities (N), two joint research activities (JRA), and offers trans national access (TA). We contribute to all activities:

 

N1 Raw data analysis, Data intercomparison and Quality assurance
Ø> Instrument intercomparison, Chamber characterisation (e.g. turbulences)

N2 Central Database of Environmental Chamber Studies and Central Spectroscopic Databases
Ø> EUROCHAMP Database (input of data files)

N3 Meetings and Infrastructure-Related Workshops
Ø> Infrastructure related workshops (activity leader)

ØJRA 1 Experimental techniques
Ø> Development of TDL spectrometers for detection of water and other trace gases

JRA 2 DEVELOPMENT OF COMMON TECHNIQUES FOR THE USE OF CHAMBER MEASUREMENTS IN MODEL DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION
Ø> Improvement of AIDA aerosol dynamic process models (MAID, COSIMA)
Ø> Development of a fluid dynamic model for the AIDA simulation chamber
 
Trans National Access
Ø> Access for foreign groups to AIDA (Travel & subsidence)
